The following is provided to help establish if the ‘entry points’ thinking and placements could form part of CashCap (& by extension NORCAP’s) standard service offering in the future. It provides propositional direction for moving from PoE as a ‘proof of concept’ to ‘piloting’.
The aim is to collectively frame the desired state in the form of potential solutions and hypothetical answers. Then communicate progress as they are tested and tweaked over time. Moving CashCap closer to answers, products and solutions that are embedded into the CashCap strategy and ways of working for 2026 and beyond.
In making the decision about whether PoE is worth continuing to invest in, we should see it as a choice as to whether to continue investing to learn across ‘sprints’, or not.
To date the experimental PoE approach has focused on testing the concept to understand if, fundamentally, there is something there to explore further. The second stage should focus on further refining the concept, and in learning about how to operationalise it.
PoE so far has demonstrated that there is value in engaging differently with partners to provide a different, more strategic kind of value than CashCap’s traditional cash coordination deployments
The stocktake has identified components that, in differing combinations, worked more or less well in different contexts.
The stocktake has also confirmed that there isn’t a one-size-fits all model for PoE; different contexts and requests necessitate different approaches
It is also unclear what proportion of CashCap’s work will be PoE v traditional deployments; however, while they may not be as many in number, PoE deployments are reputationally important and align to the CashCap strategic plan
The next phase should focus on investing to learn how ‘systematise’ PoE without losing the flexibility at the heart of it: how best to approach a context, identify or build agreement on the need among partners, and combine these components appropriate for the greatest impact; and whether to and how to grow the PoE approach as part of CashCap’s business
The following A, B & C ‘frames’ are provided to inform the direction & choice of D for phase two:
